This is Haruhi.
You are a connection.
We are one.

"Dammit Kyon! I told you to get my fanpage ready by last week. We're never going to attract more visitors to the Brigade like this!"

Or well, a man can dream. I don't have an energetic girl to beat me over the head in order to get me to finish this page in the real world. But what other motivation does a man need to finish a webpage, than the exciting prospects of the World Wide Web.
Haruhi's optimism about us living in the information age and eagerness to make a website is adorable, don't you think. The above illustration is really cute, It stuck in my mind since, well, it's a CRT, while the anime later changed the classroom's computer to have a LCD monitor. You can't blame them, in universe it's meant to be a top of the line PC, now updated for 2006. It's a fun detail, and a embedded sign of how quickly technology was changing between 2003 and 2006. I do like the aesthetic of desk with the LCD monitor in the anime, it also gives a much stronger contrast with the older CRT monitor used in the Literature Club in Disappearance (which, in the light novel wasn't illustrated, leaving no visual contrast) But, you do miss out on Haruhi decorating the CRT with the SOS団 logo, another cute detail.

So... Er... Welcome to my small Fan Shrine... This anime is great, it really makes you feel the melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

The Suzmiya Haruhi Light Novels

Haruhi's armband

For anyone wondering what's actually written on Haruhi's iconic armband, it's the Kanji characters 団 and 長, roughly meaning Group, association, and Leader, superior respectivly.

Pronounced Danchou (だんちょう) it means the leader of a delegation. Most often it's translated to Brigade Chief, keeping with the theme of calling their club, SOS団 (SOS-Dan) the SOS-Brigade.

Near the end of the first chapter in The Boredom Of Haruhi Suzumiya, there is this illustration depicting the scene where Kyon tells Haruhi to give up the baseball tournament after winning the first match. Haruhi's reaction is adorable, and i wanted it as a reaction image, so I cropped it out

The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi

I'm too lazy to write something for now, but here is the Ascii art of a heart found on the title page in the Light Novel:

Endless Eight

“What, if some day or night a demon were to steal after you into your loneliest loneliness and say to you: 'This life as you now live it and have lived it, you will have to live once more and innumerable times more' ... Would you not throw yourself down and gnash your teeth and curse the demon who spoke thus? Or have you once experienced a tremendous moment when you would have answered him: 'You are a god and never have I heard anything more divine.'” ― Friedrich Nietzsche

涼宮ハルヒの憂鬱 released in 2003 and only got widely known in the west after it's anime airing in 2006, after what many would consider the height of personal fan pages had ended. Due to this, and some sites unfortunately going offline, you wont find all that many fan shrines or sites dedicated to the series, but if you go looking, there is still plenty of interesting stuff to go around. Another reason of course is the series relative lack of content. There's 12 LN volumes, and only 28 anime episodes, but it's also a series small in scope (but wide in depth, i might add!) so you won't see any forums and such dedicated to it, like you do with behemoths such as Dragon Ball.

Here I will try to compile a list of pages and websites relating to the Suzumiya Haruhi series. I hope this can streamline anyone's hunt for fun Haruhi websites, and help whoever is feed up with top search results going to wikis and social media sites.
